Get the app
Yummy Yucky installs straight from your browser. There's nothing to sideload and no app store required, it's the same secure, private, parent-funded site, added to your home screen with its own icon. Once it's installed you get:
- Reminders & sleep check-ins (notifications only work once it's installed)
- Offline logging that syncs when you're back online
- One-tap access from your home screen, full screen, no browser bars
Tip: the install option shows up automatically in some browsers (Samsung Internet, for one) and is tucked in a menu in others (like Chrome). The steps below cover both.
📱 iPhone & iPad
Use Safari (Chrome on iOS can't install apps or send notifications).
- Open yummyyuc.ky in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow, at the bottom).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.
Reminders and sleep check-ins need iOS 16.4 or newer, and only work from the installed home-screen app.
🤖 Android — Chrome
This is the one that trips people up, because the prompt is hidden in a menu.
- Open yummyyuc.ky in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu (top-right corner).
- Tap Add to Home screen (sometimes labeled Install app).
- Confirm with Add or Install.
If a little “Install” banner pops up on its own, you can just tap that instead.
🤖 Android — Samsung Internet
- Open yummyyuc.ky in Samsung Internet.
- Tap the menu (the three lines, bottom-right), or look for the install / download icon in the address bar.
- Tap Add page to → Home screen, then confirm.
🤖 Android — Firefox
- Open yummyyuc.ky in Firefox.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Tap Install (or Add to Home screen).
💻 Desktop (Chrome or Edge)
- Open yummyyuc.ky.
- Click the install icon in the address bar (a small screen with a downward arrow), or open the ⋮ / … menu and choose Install Yummy Yucky.
Turning on reminders
Once the app is installed, open it and turn on notifications (in Settings) to get daily reminders and the “is the baby still asleep?” sleep check-ins. Notifications don't work in a regular browser tab, only in the installed app.
Is there an App Store or Play Store version?
Not yet, and you don't need one to get the full experience. The installed web app already gives you a home-screen icon, offline logging, and notifications, and it updates itself automatically with nothing to download. Native App Store and Play Store versions are something we're exploring for the future.
