• One record from newborn to first foods and beyond. The tracker does not get replaced when solids start; the same history becomes the food and allergen record.
• Allergen tracking with a memory. Every first taste, watch window, and reaction, kept and printable for the pediatrician.
• Safety is never behind the paywall. Allergen tools, choking-safe prep guidance, and the daily log are free; Plus sells coaching and keepsakes.
• The trust is structural, not stated. Parent-funded means there is no advertiser to serve, so we do not need tracking to make the business model work. And the sourced library and public correction history are timestamped, so anyone can check whether those practices have been demonstrated over time or were added last week.

Two pages exist so you do not have to take our word for anything: the public changelog (every change and correction, in plain words) and how we check our food safety content (the checks that rerun before every update, and the every-three-months human review we cannot skip).

Story angles

A few threads worth pulling, depending on your beat:

• Safety is never behind a paywall. The allergen tracker, reaction logging, and the whole daily loop are free, permanently, as a stated principle: parents should not have to pay to keep their baby safe. The subscription sells keepsakes, coaching, and coordination, never safety.
• One app instead of five. Families typically stack a sleep app, a feeding tracker, a solids guide, an allergen log, and a shared-caregiver app, then re-enter their child into each. YummyYucky carries one record from newborn tracking through solids into toddler eating, so the history compounds instead of fragmenting.
• Privacy without the catch. Parenting apps run on all kinds of business models. YummyYucky is parent-funded on purpose, so a child's feeding history, photos, and reactions are never an advertising product.
• First foods beyond avocado and oatmeal. The food library includes dishes and ingredients often left out of mainstream baby-feeding resources, from cassava and taro to callaloo, congee, and plantain, so families do not have to abandon the foods they actually eat.
• The whole day, not just the food. Feeds, sleep, and diapers live next to solids, so patterns show, the diaper that followed the beets, the nap that ran long, the week the bottles crept up.
• Groceries as a feature. Diaper tools count down the current supply and separate the checkout price from the effective price after discounts, gift cards, or conditions, so a "deal" is only called a deal when it truly is one.

Parents are expected to remember when the baby last ate, how long they slept, which foods they have tried, what happened after a possible reaction, and whether the diapers in the closet will last another week. YummyYucky gives the whole caregiving family one calm, shared place to hold all of it.

Families should not have to trade away intimate information about their children to use a helpful parenting tool. Our customers fund the product. Their baby's feeding history, photographs, reactions, and care logs are not an advertising product.

Starting solids should not require families to abandon the foods they actually eat. Parents should be able to find avocado and oatmeal, but also cassava, taro, callaloo, congee, plantain, and foods connected to their own families and cultures.

How we source our guidance

YummyYucky publishes its editorial and medical policy and identifies the sources used in its educational materials. Guidance is based on mainstream pediatric recommendations from bodies such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, and the NHS, and general information is clearly labeled as distinct from individual medical advice.
