Switching from Nara Baby

Nara exports your logs and we read all of it, so moving is a five minute job and you arrive with your tracking history rather than an empty screen. One honest exception: recorded firsts are part of Plus, so on the free plan they wait in your file rather than coming across. Everything you logged day to day comes over either way.

Bring your history over

More than one child? Nara exports one file per child, and our free plan covers one baby, twins and triplets included as one birth. If you are moving two children it is worth knowing that before you start rather than after, so: Plus covers the whole household, and the import itself is free either way. We would rather say this now than let you find it halfway through.

1. Export from Nara

On the main Activity screen, tap the avatar next to your child's name, then tap Export Data. You get a CSV. Their own instructions are here (checked 2026-09-17).

2. Upload it here

Open Bring your history over and choose the file. We recognize a Nara export from its columns, so you do not have to tell us which app it came from, and you see a full preview before anything is saved. And if it comes out wrong, there is an Undo on the other side that removes exactly what the file brought in and nothing you logged yourself, so trying it costs you nothing.

What comes across

The whole day, not just the daily loop. We built this against a real Nara export rather than guessing at their format:

Bath time, tummy time and nail trims we leave behind. We do not track those, and there is nowhere honest to put them.

What we deliberately leave behind

Reactions, first tastes, and any other app's idea of which allergens are already introduced. Those drive the allergen tracker here, and inheriting a version of them we cannot verify is worse than asking you. Imported foods land as plain history, and the app asks you to re-check your allergen tracker yourself.

The honest part

Nara has no ads and is a good tracker. We put that on our comparison page and we are not going to pretend otherwise, and we are not going to make a sales pitch out of somebody else's pricing decision. The difference is what happens at six months: we bring a food library with prep by age, choking notes and allergen tracking, and we keep those free. Whatever you decide, export your Nara data. A history you have a copy of is yours regardless of which app you end up in.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my data from Nara Baby?

On the main Activity screen, tap the avatar next to your child’s name, then tap Export Data. Nara gives you a CSV covering everything you have logged.

Why would I move?

Nara is a good tracker and we say so on our comparison page. Two reasons people move. The first is solids: Nara logs that a food happened; we did not find a food library, prep-by-age guidance, or allergen tracking described on their own pages, and if your job right now is starting solids and staying ahead of the big nine, that is the gap. The second is new: Nara now charges for tracking. Their own FAQ says the app is '$9.99/month or $99.99 one-time (lifetime)', that families get a seven-day free trial starting when you log your first track, and that afterwards 'you can still view and export everything you logged during the trial; you can’t add new entries until you sign up'. Existing families were emailed promotional pricing and an October 8 2026 start date. Either way, export your history now rather than later.

What comes across from Nara?

More than most imports. Feeds (bottle, nursing and their combo feeds), sleep, diapers including color and texture, solids, temperatures, medications, pumping sessions, growth measurements, shots, and the daily vitamin. Recorded firsts come too if you are on Plus, since the memory book lives there.

Does it handle Nara’s combo feeds?

Yes. A combo feed is one event holding both a nursing session and a bottle. We keep it as one feed with the bottle volume, and note the nursing time on it, rather than inventing two separate feeds from one thing you logged once.

Bring your history with you

Upload the CSV your old app exported and we read the columns, whichever app it came from. You see exactly what we found before anything is saved, and re-uploading the same file never doubles anything up. Free, and we do not trim old entries later.

Import your data

Last updated September 2026. Next review December 2026. How we write these: built from current published guidance from the AAP, CDC, FDA/EPA, NIAID, WHO, and other pediatric and public-health authorities, with sources cited on the page. See our editorial and medical policy for how we research, source, and update these, and how we double-check the food advice.

This is general information, not medical advice, and is not individualized for your baby. Always talk to your pediatrician about your baby's diet, introducing allergens, and any reaction. In an emergency, contact emergency services.
