Black bean and cheese quesadilla strips

12 months+

A handheld Latin-inspired lunch, cut into safe strips.

Ingredients

Good to know

Contains wheat and milk: introduce each on its own first.

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Lightly mash the black beans and spread on half a soft tortilla with a little grated cheese.
  2. Fold, and warm in a dry pan until the cheese melts.
  3. Let it cool so the cheese is not stringy or hot, then cut into finger-width strips.
  4. Serve with mashed or cubed avocado.
