Chickpea and spinach rice
12 months+Soft chickpeas and greens over rice.
Ingredients
- • 1/3 cup Cooked chickpeas
- • 1 handful Spinach
- • 3 tbsp Rice
Good to know
Spinach is high in nitrates, so serve this fresh rather than batch-cooking and reheating leftovers.
No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.
Instructions
- Warm the cooked chickpeas and lightly mash so none is whole and firm.
- Wilt the spinach, then fold both through soft-cooked rice with a little water.
