Chickpea and tomato pasta

12 months+

A soft, plant-protein pasta with a mild tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Good to know

Contains wheat: introduce wheat on its own first.

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Warm lightly mashed cooked chickpeas in a simple sauce of soft-cooked, peeled, blended tomato with a little oil, no chili.
  2. Toss through small soft-cooked pasta, mashing so the chickpeas are not whole and firm.
  3. Serve warm, cutting any long pasta small.
