Cod and pea mash

9 months+

A mild white fish with soft peas, easy to gum.

Ingredients

Good to know

Contains fish: introduce fish on its own first, and check carefully for bones.

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Steam or poach the skinless cod fillet until it flakes, about 8 minutes.
  2. Flake it carefully with your fingers to remove every bone.
  3. Mash with cooked peas and a splash of milk or the cooking water to loosen.
