Mango banana puree

6 months+

A no-cook tropical first food, naturally sweet.

Ingredients

Good to know

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Blend or mash the flesh of half a ripe mango with half a ripe banana until smooth.
  2. Loosen with a little breast milk, formula, or water if needed.
  3. Serve at room temperature.
  4. For a finger-food eater, offer ripe mango in thick spears and banana rolled in baby cereal for grip.
