Oatmeal and pear puree

6 months+

Iron-fortified oats with soft pear. An easy breakfast.

Ingredients

Good to know

Use iron-fortified baby oats if you have them, since iron matters at this age.

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Cook the rolled oats with water or milk until soft and creamy.
  2. Steam or finely grate one ripe pear until soft, and stir it through.
  3. Blend or mash to the texture your baby handles, and serve lukewarm.
