Pumpkin and apple puree

6 months+

Soft, sweet, and full of that autumn-orange goodness.

Ingredients

Good to know

Freezes well in portions.

No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.

Instructions

  1. Steam or roast peeled, cubed pumpkin with one peeled, cubed apple until very soft, about 20 minutes.
  2. Blend smooth with a little water, and serve lukewarm.
  3. Thicken as your baby handles more texture, or keep loose for a first puree.
