Soft oven fries
12 months+Oven fries cooked soft on purpose, because crisp is a grown-up texture.
Ingredients
- • 1, peeled Potato
- • 1 tbsp Olive oil
Good to know
Restaurant fries bring salt and a hard, crunchy exterior; these stay soft on purpose.
For a younger eater, split each baton lengthwise so it smashes easily.
Best fresh.
No added salt (a baby's kidneys can only handle a little), no added sugar before age 2, and no honey before age 1 (it can carry a botulism risk). More on salt, sugar, and honey.
Instructions
- Cut a peeled potato into finger-width batons.
- Toss the batons with 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Bake at 400 F for 20 to 25 minutes, turning once, until fully soft inside with only light color outside.
- Squeeze one to check it gives easily, and let them cool before serving.
