How to use cardamom in baby food

Rice & grainsStir a pinch of ground cardamom into cooking rice for a fragrant, faintly sweet dish that needs no sugar.
Oatmeal & porridgeA small amount warms up morning oatmeal and pairs beautifully with fruit.
BakingAdd a little to homemade muffins, breads, and fruit bakes for a cozy, aromatic lift.

Is cardamom safe for babies?

Cardamom is safe in the small amounts used in cooking from around 6 months. Because it is so fragrant, a little goes a long way, so start with a pinch and taste as you go. If you use whole pods, remove them before serving, since only the ground seeds should go into the food. As with all cooking for babies under 1, skip the salt and added sugar. Cardamom is not a common allergen.
