YummyYucky vs Glow Baby

The honest version. Every claim about Glow below comes from Glow's own product page, checked 2026-09-03.

What Glow Baby is better at

Breadth for free, and the ecosystem around it. The free tier tracks feeds, solids, diapers, sleep, growth, milestones, pumping, and health notes, and Glow's family of apps carries you from cycle tracking through pregnancy into babyhood with one account. If you already live in Glow's world, staying is a fair call.

What YummyYucky adds

The food record. Glow logs that solids happened; its own page describes no allergen tracking. We carry a sourced library of 1050+ foods with prep-by-age and choking guidance, a free allergen tracker with a watch window after each first taste, reaction history you can print for the pediatrician, and recipes built for new eaters. Safety stays free on every plan.

On price, verified

Glow Premium is $60 a year for one user or $90 for a family plan, by their own site (checked September 2026; their support pages have shown slightly different figures, so check in-app before deciding). YummyYucky Plus is $99 a year, covers the whole household, and the safety features never sit behind it.

The export question

By Glow's own page, PDF and CSV export is a Premium feature. We think leaving should always be free: your data exports from Settings at no charge, and our importer reads other apps' files free, preview first, no doubles on re-upload.

Frequently asked questions

Is Glow Baby free?

The base app is free and covers a lot: feeds including solids, diapers, sleep, growth, milestones, and health notes. Glow Premium is $60 a year for one user or $90 for a family plan, by their own site, and adds comparative insights, personalized charts, and data export.

What does YummyYucky do that Glow Baby does not?

Treat food as more than a log line. Glow records that solids happened; we carry a sourced library of 1050+ foods with prep-by-age and choking guidance, a free allergen tracker with a watch window after each first taste, and a printable reaction history for the pediatrician. Glow’s own page describes no allergen tracking.

Does Glow Baby charge for data export?

By their own site, PDF and CSV export is a Premium feature. We think your history should never be hostage: YummyYucky exports your data free from Settings, and our importer reads other apps’ CSVs free too.

Which is better for starting solids?

That is the job YummyYucky is built around: what to serve, how to cut it safely at each age, which allergens are still un-introduced, and what to try next. If your baby is approaching six months, that is the fork in the road.

How we write these: built from current published guidance from the AAP, CDC, FDA/EPA, NIAID, WHO, and other pediatric and public-health authorities, with sources cited on the page. See our editorial and medical policy for how we research, source, and update these, and how we double-check the food advice.
